before treatment
COMPLETE HEALTH ASSESSMENT
In order to provide safe and effective Electrology treatments, an accurate health history assessment is required by your electrologist. Click the link for our Client Health History Assessment and complete before your first appointment.
Grow it
If you’ve recently shaved, allow 3-5 days for regrowth in the treatment area. Your hair must be long enough for your electrologist to grab. (at least 1/16” to 1/8” in length) For more information about the hair growth cycle, visit our FAQ page.
hydrate
Hydrated skin does a better job of conducting the currents used in electrolysis hair removal techniques. Insertions will be better and the hair will slide out easier from the follicle. You may experience less discomfort and your treatments will be more effective.
Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water in general and especially the day before and the day of treatment.

don’t clog pores
Do not apply make-up or any other products (such as BB Creams, powders and deodorant) that clog your pores.
Note: You may apply a topical numbing cream of your choice before your treatment. Follow product instructions for effective numbing. Your electrologist will remove the numbing cream immediately before treatment.
After treatment
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT
Everyone interprets the sensation of electrolysis differently. Redness, swelling, scabbing and possible bruising are normal skin reactions to treatments. Your electrologist will apply witch hazel, aloe vera or an ice pack at the end of your treatment.
don’t touch
You may be tempted to touch your newly treated area. However, try to avoid touching, rubbing or scratching the treated area within the fist 24 hours after treatment. Doing so may increase risk of infection.
Scabs are normal
Don’t pick them! It’s normal for scabs to form after electrolysis. Removing a scab prematurely can cause scars and increase chances of infection.
